How to reproduce:

  • Use with --play string argument to see it better
  • Start some music in Chromium, it works as expected
  • then close that tab (make sure the browser remains open)
  • The module do not get hidden, only string is shown an something like (chromium.instance23434) on the tooltip

Expected behavior: it should disappear

This works with waybar so i'm guessing it's something to do with polybar differently parses the output. Could you send your polybar config for waybar-mpris? I'll try figure out what it's expecting.
